   SPARTA - Alan "Al" Wright, 91, of Sparta, died Sunday, October 11, 2020, at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse.

   He leaves behind a sister, Ilajean Jones; daughter, Linda Drake; son, Jeff Wright; and five grandchildren, Eric Wright, Jordon Wright, Tyler Wright, Paula Wright, and Melissa Drake.

   Alan will be joining his beloved wife, Delores “Tod” who passed away eight years ago. Alan and Tod owned the Dairy Queen for many years. He then worked for Kohler Mix Company for many years. Alan was a Korean War Veteran, Mason, Shriner, and was active in many community projects.

   Relatives, friends, former employees, and mentors are welcome to his funeral. Masks are to be worn at the funeral home. If you feel uncomfortable about being inside for health reasons, there will be an outdoor military honors ceremony with taps. A luncheon will follow at Club 16 where masks will be optional. If you feel uncomfortable attending an indoor public setting, the family completely understands; however, all are welcome to come and celebrate Al’s life.

   A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Reverend Randy Williamson officiating. Military honors, provided by VFW Post 2112 and American Legion Post 100, both of Sparta, will follow in the funeral home parking lot. Burial will be private. A luncheon will be held at Club 16.

   Family and friends are invited to attend visitation from 9 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
