WEST SALEM - Daniel Louis Schnitzler, 62, of West Salem, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2021 at Mayo Hospital in La Crosse.
He was born on February 11, 1958 to Ron and Barbara Schnitzler in Sparta, Wisconsin. He was married to Teresa Gerke from 1981-2005. He then started dating his special partner, Sharon Lichthardt, in 2005 and continued to share his life with her until 2021 when he passed away.
Daniel had many interests and hobbies, which included: painting and art crafts, gardening, fishing, cooking, family gatherings, hunting, watching NASCAR racing, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed collecting rare coins, and loved all animals.
Daniel is survived by his special partner Sharon Lichthardt, of West Salem; his daughter Melissa Bakkestuen (boyfriend Jeremy Kendhammer) of Galesville; son Matthew Schnitzler (girlfriend Mariah Novy) of Sparta; brothers Aron Schnitzler (Julie) of Sparta and Cedric Schnitzler (Rachel) of Sparta; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ron and Barbara Schnitzler of Sparta; grandparents Bernard and Alice Pearson; and grandparents Louis and Pearl Schnitzler.
A private family service will take place on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2pm at New Life Assembly of God in Sparta, WI.
A Celebration of Life to follow in June at the family farm.
