JACK LOYAL ALLEN
May 1, 1935—June 7, 2019
NORWALK - Jack Loyal Allen, 84, of Norwalk, died Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Tomah.
He was born to Claude and Avis (Curry) Allen on May 1, 1935 in Bird City, KS. He joined the U.S. Army and served as a paratrooper. Jack was united in marriage to Betty Schlepp in St. Francis, KS in 1958; to this union was born a daughter, Jacqueline. He was united in marriage to Marlene Lenz on November 8, 1963; to this union was born a son, Robert; he also became step-father to Kathy and Jude. Marlene preceded him in death in 1998. He was united in marriage to Leanne Moore on May 10, 2003, and became step-father to Kevin, Kent, Karmen, and Kurt.
He was the owner and operator of Allen’s Interior Trim. He was an accomplished carpenter and built many different things including cabinets, furniture, the cross for his church, and a map of world missions. Jack was a faithful member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church and served on the church board, he was a part of the Jail ministries in his younger days; he went on mission trips to Zimbabwe and Mexico, and was a member of the West of 50 Group. He knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and shared his faith. He had a good sense of humor and will always be remembered for singing in the morning, telling good clean jokes, and making you laugh. Jack was loyal and honest and dedicated to his faith, his family, his friends, and every project that he did. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Leanne of Norwalk; a daughter, Jacqueline Allen of St. Francis, KS; a son, Robert Allen of Frisco, CO; 6 step-children, Kathy Rose of Arizona, Jude Stapleton of Mesa, AZ, Kevin Moore of Middleton, Kent (Sarah) Moore of Leander, TX, Karmen (Greg) Bernacchi of Mauston, and Kurt (Seleena) Moore of Norwalk; 16 grandchildren, Jill Cole, Kelly (Andrew) Dunkley, Monica Allen, Micah Allen, Ginger Hellbusch, Paul (Shavaun) Rose, Sara and Katrina Frazier, Nikki and Emily Moore, and Ella Bernacchi, Sean (Katie) Jorgensen, Tyler (his fiancée Christine) Moore, Jonathan (Elayna) Moore, Jacob (his fiancée Emily) Moore and Sydney Moore; 11 great-grandchildren, Evan, Levi, Elliot, Xavier, Imani, Ella, Evan, Chelsea, Jalen, Hunter and Damon; three sisters-in-law, Hazel Allen of Akron, CO, Darlene Allen of Scottsbluff, AZ, and Joy Allen of AZ; many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, Marlene, he was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Travis Hellbusch and Justin Borene; nine brothers and sisters; an infant brother, and an infant sister.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, 762 W. Clifton St., Tomah. Pastors Kent Moore and Greg Bernacchi will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday (today) from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
