SPARTA - Myron Paul Schwarz, 102, of Sparta, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Tomah VA Medical Center. He was born on June 1, 1918 in the Town of Wells to Melchoir and Martha Schwarz. He served in the US Army from 1942 until 1946. Upon returning from service, he farmed his family’s homestead on Summit Ridge.
Myron married Virginia (June) Mlsna on June 1, 1950. They bought a farm in Farmers Valley and raised their family there until 1971 when they moved into Sparta. Myron worked at the Wisconsin Child Center from 1970 until they closed and then worked at the Tomah VA.
Myron is survived by his wife, June; their seven children, Gail (Keith) Raddatz, Don (Cathy), Jerry (Barb), Jane Brueggeman, Chuck (Lori), Dick (Betty), and Rod; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; eight siblings; two sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; and one grandson.
A private family Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sparta. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.
