SPARTA - Rev. Jonathan E. Hollmann, age 78, of Sparta, Wisconsin, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020, at the Mayo Hospital in Sparta, Wisconsin. He was born November 28, 1941, to Rev. Paul and Mary (Kraft) Hollmann in Munising, Michigan.

He was united in marriage to Beulah Paepke on April 26, 1969, in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Jon worked many years as a craftsman and a carpenter. He also served as Pastor at several churches during his life. Jon was active in the Foster Grandparents Program in Sparta and regularly spent time at St. Patrick’s Elementary School. He was currently a member at New Life Assembly of God Church in Sparta, WI.

Jon loved working with wood and rock hunting. He would frequently make custom wood crafts for friends and family. He also loved telling jokes and riddles, and no matter how many times we heard them, they still made us laugh.

Jon loved Jesus and it is a comfort to his family to know he is with Him now and that he will feel no more pain or shed anymore tears. How great God is. One of Jon's favorite passages in the Bible is Psalm 91. Jon was a great and loving husband, father and grandfather.

Jon is survived by his wife, Beulah of Sparta, WI; his son and granddaughters, Nathan Hollmann and granddaughters, Adelaide and Dezi Hollmann of Minneapolis, MN; a brother, David (Marilyn) Hollmann of Sparta, WI; two brothers-in-law, Edwin Paepke of Utah and David Paepke of Montana; nieces, Stephanie (LeRoy) Baldwin of Ontario, Tara (Brent) Beck of Cashton, and Beth Weaver of Ohio; nephew, Steven Weaver of Ohio; along with other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary; and a sister, Paula Weaver.

Memorial Services will be held, Saturday, July 18, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at the New Life Assembly of God Church, 720 Avon Rd., Sparta, WI. Pastor Randy Williamson will officiate. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred (Beulah is very allergic to flowers).
