Twila C. Montgomery Thobaben joined her Heavenly Father, Heavenly family and friends on December 1, 2020.
Twila was born to Joseph and Clara Gullick on November 6, 1925 in Highland, WI. She was baptized on December 24, 1925 at Fairview Lutheran Church in Avoca.
Twila graduated from Cobb High School and soon moved to Madison, where she met her future husband Elbert (Al). In April 1942 she was united in marriage to Elbert Montgomery. During their 24 year marriage they had four children. Together they belonged to several couples bridge and golf organizations. Al died June 1966.
Twila married Harold Thobaben in May 1970. They enjoyed gardening, antiquing, and traveling. Harold died May 2000.
She loved being a wonderful part of her five granddaughters lives. They lovingly named her Moma T. There was always laughter in the house and we knew she was in the midst of another granddaughter scheme. It was often difficult to know who is having the most fun.
Twila is survived by four children: Elbert II, Jill, David, and Joy (Bill). She is further survived by five granddaughters: Christa, Carmen, Emily, Kjersten and Callan; and a great grandson, Joseph.
In accordance with Twila’s wishes, a private burial service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.
