TOMAH- Shirley E. Schwemmer, 94, of Tomah, died Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in Lacrosse. She was born October 9, 1929, to Edward and Myrtle (Fields) Bunde in Millston. She was united in marriage to Raymond Schwemmer on June 14, 1947, in Jackson County. He preceded her in death in April of 1976. Shirley worked for Pongratz ICA in Warrens, at Union Camp in Tomah, the Tomah Care Center, and the TORO Company for many years. She enjoyed bowling and when she was younger was active in bowling league and playing bingo in her later years. She was a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene in Tomah. She made lots of friends at Tomah Manor that were special to her. Shirley was always kind and thoughtful, a thought about other people before herself. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Janice (Dwight) Griffin of Warrens, Eugene of Warrens, Karen (Paul) Braman of Tomah, and Randy (Sharon) of Warrens, 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren, a brother Edward (Mary) Bunde of Millston, a brother-in-law Sam Davis of Tomah, many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 sisters Faye Davis and Dolly Rudolph.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 11:00 A.M. at the Brookside Cemetery, Town of Millston. Pastor Travis Cox will officiate. Online condolences may be sent to www.sonnenburgfamilyfh.com. The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
