   SPARTA-Virginia (Ginny) Gail Hagen passed away at Rolling Hills early on November 18, 2023 peacefully in her sleep. She was born on September 7, 1934 to Herbert and Frances (Elliot) Seekamp. She attended Sparta High School. She married Stanley Hagen on June 21, 1952 in Sparta.

   They started their married life in Oconomowoc. Four of the children were born there, Gail, Debbie, Wayne, and Vicki. They moved to Woodstock, Illinois and were blessed with another daughter, Lori. Stanley’s love of farming would eventually bring them back to Sparta so they could farm. Ginny worked at Rolling Hills in various departments and retired from there as laundry supervisor. She cared for her father at their home for a time. She also cared for Stanley when he became disabled. She was a caring, loving mother and wife. She played pool with Grandpa and Grandma’s pool league for several years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

   She is survived by her children, Gail (Mark) Baltz, Debbie (Scott) Chatfield, Wayne (Debbie) Hagen, Vicki (Kevin) Strait, Lori (Gene Beck) Caya. 14 grandchildren, Patrick (Megan) Baltz, Jenna (Kary) Baltz, Daniel (Tanya) Hagen, Ryan (Melissa Klatt) Chatfield, Nicholas (Bethany Bowe) Chatfield, Jaime (David) Daoust, Amy Schroeder, Chad Johnson, Ashley (Matt) Foss, Selina (Cody) Knudtson, Shannon (Bryan) Davis, Alyssa (Jim) Ruswick, Olivia (Zach) Sipple, Natalie Caya and Madelyn Caya; and 21 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Byron Seekamp and in-laws, Doris Seekamp, Curtis and Shirley Hagen and Bruce and Dorothy Bernett.

   She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and parents in-law, Donald and Bertha Hagen; siblings and spouses, Ruby and Richard Williams, Shirley and Tom Schamens, Alan Seekamp, Norma and Harvey Lenius, and Lurene Seekamp; and two grandchildren, Christopher Baltz and Virginia Johnson.

   Thank you to the Assisted Living staff and Nursing Home staff at Rolling Hills for their care and concern. Thank you to the Gundersen Sparta Clinic staff and Gundersen Hospice staff for the care through the years.

   A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sparta, with Reverend Josh Buzbee officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.
