   SPARTA - Bernice E. Biever, 86, of Sparta, died Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Black River Memorial Hospital, Black River Falls, WI. She was born on September 17, 1934, daughter of the late Gustaf and Alma (Harting) Beimborn in Saukville, WI.

   Bernice was a daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend. Bernice was raised on the family farm. Bernice married Leo Biever Jr. on September 13, 1952 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Newburg.

   She was employed with Briggs & Stratton in Grafton, WI. Bernice and Leo then opened a gas station in the town of Grafton, WI, where she did the books for the business and also worked at Five Corner’s as a cleaner in Cedarburg at the same time. Also during this time she volunteered as a Leader in creating leather crafts. The next adventure together they ran a tavern, Leo & Bernie’s KK Inn in Port Washington. After the tavern, Bernice was an assistant manager at Fashion Bug in Grafton, WI and for Kohl’s department store until her retirement.

   Bernice had a passion for flowers and plants. She had the right touch to grow any type of plants and received so many compliments on the beauty of them. Another favorite pastime was watching the Green Bay Packers. It didn’t matter if the players on the tv could hear her or not, she was their biggest cheerleader. Bernice also loved spending time with her family, buying gifts for anyone who could use them.

   Bernice is survived by her four children, Barry (Kathy) Biever of Rock, MI, Brian (Mary Ann) Biever of Cibolo, TX, Bonny (Kurt) Schendel of Sparta, WI, and Barbie (Roland) Piotrzkowski of Kiel, WI; eight grandchildren, Barry Jr., Carry, Brian J., April, Edward, Nicole, Nick, and Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Knepprath; brothers, Emil (Vera) Beimborn of El Paso, TX, Harold (Donette) Beimborn of Sheboygan Falls, and Ronald (Carolyn) Beimborn of Beechwood; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Jr.; parents, Gustafson and Alma Beimborn; and a brother, Elmer Beimborn.

   Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, services for Bernice will be held at a later time.
