SPARTA - Dale Ray Pennel, 79, of Sparta WI, passed away peacefully at home on December 25th, 2020 surrounded by his family.
Dale was born on March 7, 1941 to Arthur and Charlotte Pennel in La Crosse WI on his mother’s birthday. Dale graduated from Holmen in 1959 with 12 years of perfect attendance. Dale met the love of his life, Linda (Anderson) at their high school FFA Snowball Dance and married August 31st, 1963. Following graduation, Dale owned Dale’s Conoco Station in La Crosse and later also had an auto pool. Dale and Linda moved to Sparta in 1982 for their auto pool business, and retired in 2008. Dale had a real love of race cars that he passed onto his sons and grandsons. They traveled in their RV for the past 12 years, making memories and meetin many new friends along the way.
Dale and Linda celebrated special 25th, 40th and 50th wedding anniversaries together through the years, with family and friends.
Dale is survived by his wife Linda; two sons, Dennis (friend Renee) and Dean (Sonya) Pennel, all of Sparta; five grandchildren, Davey (friend Courtney), Allison (fiancé Aric), McKenzie, Matthew and Colten; and three great-grandchildren, Breylen, Landon and Trace. Dale had many nieces, nephews and cousins, and one very special bond with niece Kari Anderson. Dale is survived by his sister Bettie (David) Brechwald, and Aunt Hilly (Hildegarde) Enger.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Charlotte (Henry) Pennel; his brother, Claire; an infant sister, Donna Mae; and niece, Janet (Pennel) Anderson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
