Tomah - Jean M. Lind, age 89, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the Serenity House in Tomah.  She was born July 5, 1933, to Anthony and Marie (Becker) Betthauser in Tomah.  Jean was united in marriage to Allen Lind on September 21, 1957, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomah.   After graduating from Tomah High School in 1951, Jean worked for her father at Betthauser Lumber in Tunnel City, Wisconsin until 1973.  She then worked for Sorensons, Inc. as a bookkeeper from 1973 until 1998.

   Together, Jean and Allen loved to bowl, and Jean was always rooting for Allen at his baseball games.  She found great joy in participating at the Queen of the Apostles church activities and spending time with family and friends.

   She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Allen; her son, Mark Lind; and her siblings, Carol (Vern) Shier and Ruth (Norbert) Seiss.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Margaret “Muggs” Johnson, Ann Hoffman, Ceil Christopherson, John Betthauser, Robert Betthauser, and an infant sister, Eleanor Betthauser.

   Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Queen of the Apostles Parish in Tomah.  Monsignor David Kunz will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery in Tunnel City.  Family and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a rosary beginning at 3:30 p.m., at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah.  Visitation will also be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jean’s name to the Queen of the Apostles Parish or the Serenity House.  The Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be offered at www.torkelsonfuneralhome.com.
