Warrens - Linda Lee Benjamin, 79, of Warrens, died Monday April 10, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born September 20, 1943, to Elmer “Lee” and Phyllis (Harding) Harris in Mauston.

She grew up in the Clifton area and was a member of the Tomah Senior High School Graduating Class of 1961. She was a majorette in the band, and caught the eye of her future husband, Gary Benjamin. 10 days after her 18th birthday, they were united in marriage on September 30, 1961, at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Indian Creek. They have been together for 65 years. Linda went to work for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Tomah and retired in 1993. After her retirement she worked for Monroe County in Transcripts. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church and served in the ladies circle. She also worked as an election inspector in the Town of Lincoln.

Linda and Gary loved snowmobiles and were founding members of the Warren’s Trail Twisters. Linda had an artistic personality and enjoyed making ceramics and sewing. She made special treasures for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed working outside and had a beautiful flower garden at home. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and had a large collection of Angels.  Linda’s family was most important to her. She always put her family first. She was the best wife, mom, grandma, and grandma great that anyone could ask for. She will always be remembered for singing “Now the Light has Gone Away” to her children and “I See the Moon and the Moon Sees Me” to her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Gary, of Warrens,  a son Dana (Toni) Benjamin of Custer, SD, 3 daughters, Shari Benjamin of Warrens, Vikki (Jeff) Dolezal of Waterford, Kara (Terry) Burn of Moose Lake, MN , 11 grandchildren, Anthony (Anna) Benjamin, Raeanne (Stephen) Evans, and Mandy Benjamin, Derek Ford and Jason Morgan, Phyllisa, Sydney, and Carlene Zuehlke, Adrienne, Aaron, and Andrew Burn, 7 great-grandchildren, a sister Eleanor King, a brother Glen (Serena) Harris, 2 sisters-in-law Marlene Sebranek and Agnes Benjamin, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Winton and Frieda Benjamin, a brother Ray Harris, 2 sisters-in-law Shirley Ellsworth and Carol Martin, 3 brothers-in-law Don and Tom Benjamin and Gary King.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church 525 Superior Ave, Tomah. Pastor Korey Van Kampen will officiate. Burial will be in the Warren Mills Cemetery.  Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 P.M at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E.
