Margaret Ann (Schultz) Tetzlaff, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home on May 3, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  Margaret was born on December 29, 1934 in Kaukauna, WI to the late William G. and Mary E. (Jakl) Schultz. She graduated from the Eighth grade at St. John the Baptist School in Princeton, WI in 1949 and was a 1953 graduate of Princeton High School. Margaret worked as a roller-skating car hop at a local drive in and as a cook at Ripon College.

In 1954, Margaret met the “Apple of her eye”, the late Victor Tetzlaff, over a bag of spilled apples. They were united in marriage on June 29, 1957 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Princeton, WI and celebrated 58 years together before her beloved husbands passing on May 12, 2015.

Margaret was a loving homemaker. You would always find her in the kitchen, making delicious homemade meals, especially chicken dumpling soup and baked goods for her friends and family. Her children would always look forward to coming home after school to home baked treats of cookies, donuts, cream puffs, home made bread and pies.

Margaret enjoyed spending time in the garden with her family tending to the fruits of their hard labor. Margaret also enjoyed canning, fishing, camping, crocheting, Swedish Weave, flowers and plants of all kinds, cardinals, watching the birds in her yard and traveling across the country with her family.

Her grandchildren were her biggest pride and joy and she held a special place in her heart for each of them. Special times together included baking, camping trips, and playing cards and games, especially Skip-Bo.

Margaret was a proud member of the Homemakers KM Do-ettes for 56 years. She currently was serving her 2nd term as President.

With the losses of her two sons and beloved husband, anyone else would have broken. Margaret showed incredible strength; she was an anchor to her daughters. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Her legacy of strength and love will forever be ingrained in our hearts.

The loving care and support Margaret’s grandson, Nicholas, has given his grandma over the past year will never be forgotten.

Margaret is survived by her three daughters, Denise Tetzlaff of La Crosse, WI, Annette (Jeff) First of Kenosha, WI and Jennifer (Kevin) Gilbertson of Tomah, WI; grandchildren, Angela, Nathanael, Nicholas, Robert (Jordyn), Alexandra, Riley and Grace; great granddaughter, Evalynn; Margaret’s brother, William Schultz; sister-in-law, Lorraine Schultz; brother-in-law, Thomas Tetzlaff; sister-in-law, Christine Tetzlaff; nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives and friends.

(Jakl) Schultz; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Stanley and Anna (Katerinszky) Tetzlaff; her brothers, Richard and Glen Schultz; sister, Mary Barnekow; brother-in-law, Harvey Barnekow; sister-in-law, Roxanne Schultz; and her loving cat, Kaiyo.
