   Tomah - Phillip M. Baker, 81,  of Tomah, died peacefully on  Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at his home. On July 25, 1941, Phil was born to Roscoe C. and Anita Noami (Storm)  Baker in Coffeeville, Kansas. He was then raised in Edna, Kansas. He was a member of the Edna High School Graduating Class of 1958. He attended Pittsburg State College. He worked on Dunn and Brod Street in New York City doing photography for 4 to 5 years as well as MidCo photos. He also worked for Liberty Homes selling manufactured homes. He then drove a semi truck. He then returned to selling manufactured homes with Skyline. He worked there until he retired. He was united in marriage to Sandy Nelson and they had two sons. 

   Later in life On November 22, 1986, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Wanda Board at the Elroy United Methodist Church. During his free time, Phil often enjoyed staying busy by wood working, tinkering with clocks, rebuilding his beloved 1951 John Deere MT, and working on his John Deere 1948B, keeping up with the latest in politics. Phil also enjoyed travelling, and was able to visit places such as Gulf Shores, Alabama; New Mexico; and Alaska in his lifetime. Above anything else, Phil was a family man. From camping with his loved ones, to taking Saturday trips to the dump with his grandsons, Phil always made it a priority to spend time with those who mattered most to him. Phil will be remembered for his caring and loving heart, his love of telling stories, and passing along his wisdom heart. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.

   Phil is survived by his wife, Wanda; children Bryan (Jody) Baker of Wichita, Kansas; Barry (special friend, Dana) Baker of  Oklahoma; 2 step-children, Wendy Knutson of Tomah, Wisconsin; and Kurt (Rhonda) Kuehl of Tomah, Wisconsin; 7 grandchildren Robbie Knutson, Brogan Gowin, Jordan (Mandi) Rudolph, Amber (Jesse) Todd, Tanner (Ellie) Kuehl, and Kade Kuehl; 7great-grandchildren, a brother, Ed Baker of Edna, Kansas; brothers-in-law Bill (Sherry) Board of Elroy, Gary (Pam) Board of Elroy, and Randy (Paulette) Board of Elroy; sister-in-law Pam (Richard) Voigt of Wonewoc, Wisconsin. Also many other relatives and friends.

   Phil is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Roscoe Baker.

   A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 4:00 PM at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church 310 W. Elizabeth Street, Tomah. Pastor David Dahl  will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date.
