Sparta volleyball outlasts La Crosse Central to snap nine-match conference losing skid

Posted

Before their match against La Crosse Central this past Tuesday, the Sparta girls volleyball team was on a nine-match conference losing streak.

The team had hopes of ending the skid when they traveled to La Crosse.

A 27-25 first set win for the Lady Spartans would be the catalyst for them to end their lengthy losing ways, as they’d go on to win the match 3-1 (27-25, 25-16, 17-25, 25-23).

Central were the 3-1 winners in the last match these teams played last month. Sparta forced Central to have 23 attacking errors in Tuesday's match. The team also was able to force Central into 2 blocking errors.

Overall, it was a great match for the Sparta girls volleyball team and a much-needed win after nine straight losses to conference opponents.

The team improves to 12-16 overall and 2-9 in conference play. Their last match of the regular season is Thursday, October 14 against the Aquinas Blugolds.
