New Lisbon - Willard O. Kvistad, Jr., 68 of New Lisbon passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Tomah Health. He was born on December 29, 1954 to Willard O. Sr and Mildred (Dutcher) Kvistad in Black River Falls, WI. He attended Sparta High School leaving prior to graduation to enlist in the United States Navy. Throughout the years, Willard was a self-employed landscaper and assisted with barn demolition projects. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, camping and casino trips with Rhonda along with spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his life partner, Rhonda Kvistad of New Lisbon, children, John (Ardella) King of New Lisbon, Chris (Tonya) King of Necedah, Heather (Chris Boggs) Scott of New Lisbon, Brandi (Tony) Dopson of Tomah, 9 grandchildren, siblings, Mertin “Skip” Rumppe, Iva (Bruce) DePaulaw, Verna (Tim) Osmond, Sharon (Bill) Jotham, Shirley Windsor and Roxie (Chuck) Stone. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Tammy Oldenburg, Donna Bowen, Darlene Williams and Terry Kvistad, brothers-in-law, August Luther, and Keith Windsor.
A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, 7:00 PM at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau Street, Tomah. Relatives and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until the time of the service.
A Graveside Committal Service with military honors will be held at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery.
