CATARACT/SPARTA - Brenda “B.R.” L. Luther, 61, of Cataract and Sparta, died on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse. She was born on February 1, 1963 to George and Elizabeth (Mengelt) Luther in Sparta. She attended Cataract and Sparta Schools.
Brenda grew up and lived on the Luther Family farm until she moved to Sparta Arms in 2018. She enjoyed doll collecting, making beaded necklaces and bracelets, and was big on numbers and proud of our big family. Due to B.R.’s closeness in age to many nieces and nephews. She was able to relate well with them and create a close bond. Together they indulged in the pop culture of the time, especially New Kids on the Block and Dukes of Hazard.
Brenda is survived by her siblings, Judy Herr, Hedy (Roger Jandt) Waite, Joan Sanders, Georgia Thomas, George “Butch” (Brenda) Luther, Randy Luther, and Christine (Richard) Stargard; 17 nieces and nephews, 42 great nieces and nephews, and 29 great-great nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant brother, Joseph.
A Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Cataract United Methodist Church, Cataract, with Pastor Roberta Nowicki officiating. Burial will be in Cataract Cemetery.
