TOMAH - Carl L. Ericson, age 85, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He was born January 19, 1939, to Carl and Elsa (Einarson) Ericson in Chicago, Illinois.
On September 2, 1961, he married Judith E. Dahlstrom in Chicago. In 1969, they moved to Tomah with their two sons and in 1970 a daughter was born. He was the manager of Tomah LP Gas for over 25 years and later worked for Walmart before retiring in 2008.
Carl was a longtime member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ where he served on several boards and committees. In his free time, Carl was an avid bowler and golfer.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, children, Richard (Sara), Brian (Ginean) and Beth, grandchildren, Alexander (Danielle), Ell (Colten), Brian and Seth, step-granddaughters, Crystle and Ginger, and step-great grandson, Michael. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Elsa, and his twin sister, Alice Bock.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale, WI. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. A meal will be served at the church following the burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Congregational United Church of Christ, the Monroe County Animal Shelter or the charity of choice.
