   LEON/SPARTA - Curtis Donald Hagen, 88, of Leon, passed away in the arms of his loving family, on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Morrow Memorial Home, in Sparta. Curtis was born June 22, 1935 to Donald and Bertha (Keene) Hagen.

   He went to school at Pleasant Valley grade school. He helped his dad on the farm and then went to work for Pabst Farms in Oconomowoc. On September 29, 1956, he married Shirley Switz at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilton. They had two children, Steven and Cheryl. He then went to work at Cold Spring Farm in Monroe, WI. In 1966, he purchased his grandfather Keene’s farm, which he still lived on today. He loved farming and horses. He became custodian at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sparta for 22 years until he retired in 2010.

   Curtis is survived by his wife, Shirley of 67 years; children, Steven (Susan) Hagen, and Cheryl (Mike) Brumbly all of Sparta; 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brad) Lueck of West Salem, Trevor (Tracy) Hagen, Trent (Kellie) Hagen and Erik Hagen, all of Sparta; 11 great grandchildren, Caitlynn, Carson and Cameron Luek, Tavin, Ella, Caleb, Mason, and Alayna Hagen, Evelyn Hollman, Jada and Dayne Munson; and a sister, Dorothy (Bruce) Bernett of Melvina.

   He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stanley Hagen.

   The family would like to thank the staff at Morrow memorial Home for the excellent care they provided Curtis.

   A Memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sparta, with Reverend Josh Buzbee officiating.
