TOMAH - Dale T. Rowan, 92, of Tomah, died Friday, May 6, 2022, at Liberty Village, Tomah.  He was born January 5, 1930, to John and Zelma (Birkholz) Rowan. He was a member of the 1947 graduating Class of Tomah High School. 

   He was united in marriage to Norma Jean Stoddard on October 15, 1955.  She preceded him in death on December 8, 2017. He joined the U.S. Army in 1956 and was stationed in Japan. Upon returning to the Warrens/Tomah area, he purchased a farm where he started with dairy cattle and then later moved to beef cattle and row crops. He also began working at Union Camp plastic factory where he worked for 30 years before retiring in 1985.

   Dale also served at the Town of Lincoln Chairman for 38 years.  He was very proud of his accomplishments and many years of service to the township and the Town of Lincoln Fire Department.

   He enjoyed going to dances in his younger years and his love of polka music and dancing was known to all his friends.  He was also a life-long Chicago Cubs fan and seeing them win the World Series in 2016 was a long waited for event.  Dale played baseball for years and started the Jellystone Bears team that played from the park in Warrens. He loved to travel, ranging from car rides with his family to later enjoying casino bus trips after retirement. He also enjoyed playing cards of any kind.

   He is survived by his son Michael (Vicki) Rowan of North Carolina, and daughter Susan (Jerry) Bloom of Oakdale.  Grandchildren Sydney, EmmaJean, Griffin Rowan and Andrew, Timothy, and  Michael Bloom.  He was blessed with 7 great grandchildren.

   In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister Janice Kalms.

   A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022, 10:00 A.M. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St. Tomah.  Pastor Dennis Frost will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. 

   A celebration of life will be held at the KC Hall immediately following the service. 

   Interment will be at 3:30 PM at Warrens Mill Cemetery with military honors.
