SPARTA - Diane L. Spores, 79, of Sparta passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta. She was born on March 19, 1947 to Robert and Catherine (Stoker) Greene in Wauwatosa. She grew up in Mauston.
Diane married Jerald Spores on June 10, 1972. They celebrated 35 years of marriage, before his passing.
Diane was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and participated in the church choir. She was also involved in Community Theater. She enjoyed travelling, especially to Door County. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Diane is survived by her children, Angela Spores, and Nicole (Mathew) True; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Steve Greene.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerald Spores; and grandparents, Viola and John Stoker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sparta, with Father Eric Berns officiating. Burial will be in St. Pat’s Cemetery, at a later date.
Friends and family are invited for a visitation from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta; and from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Friday, at the church.
