   SPARTA - Donna Mae Sherin passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Monday, February 12th, 2024.

   Donna Sherin (Riebau) was born on June 10th, 1930, and grew up in Winona, MN. Donna was proud to have worked at the record shop and at H. Choate & Co. in Winona in those early days.

   Donna lived in La Crosse, WI for most of her life. Donna loved family, coffee, daisies, scary movies, socializing, church, bible study, reading, and riding bicycle. Donna worked for about 25 years as a librarian at the North Side La Crosse Public Library, which she remembered fondly. When she was retired she volunteered by reading to visually impaired people; and after she was widowed, Donna volunteered to hold babies who were in special need of human contact at Gundersen Hospital.

   Donna very much enjoyed spending as much time with her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren as she could. Donna is very much loved, will be missed, and will be remembered. Her last years were spent happily in Sparta, WI, near her oldest son and his big family.

   Donna joins those who passed on before her: parents Louis and Alice Riebau; sister Ruth and bro-in-law Roy Miller; nephew Ronald Miller, niece Carol Fernholz; great-granddaughter Evelin Meyer; and husband for 55 years, Ray Sherin.

   Donna is survived by: her three sons Mark Sherin (Krista), Scott Sherin (Vicky), and Jeff Sherin (Chandra); her grandchildren Angie Sporleder (Paul); Dana Sherin (Brian Zempel); Stacey Hoffmann; Bryce Sherin (Sara); Abby Scholze (Tony); Josh Sherin (Marisol); Sarah Sherin (David Larson); and Samara Sherin; 25 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

   Memorial services will be held at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, in Sparta, at 11am, Saturday, June 1st, 2024 with Pastor David Leistekow officiating. A visitation will be from 10am - 11am. A private family burial will follow the service. Memorials can be given to La Crosse Public Library—North Branch or Rolling Hills Activity Program.
