Esther D. Bohnert lived a life full of love, resilience, and laughter. She grew up on her family farm, where she learned the values of hard work and kindness that she carried throughout her life.

She first married Thomas Stretsbery, who tragically passed during the Korean War. Later, she met Donald A. Owen while working at a carnival, and the two married in Texas. She later married Robert Bohnert and made her home in Elroy, WI, until his passing as well.

Esther was an active member of the Kendall Legion Auxiliary and was known for her love of garage sales, embroidery, and word search puzzles. She cherished laughter, good fun, and being a loving mother and caregiver. She was always home, ready to babysit or offer a warm, welcoming presence to those around her.

She is survived by her daughter; Rosa J. Hiles (Daniel Gross) of Bristol, TN; granddaughter, Sarah F. Owen of Tomah; and great-grandchildren; Tristian Gilbertson and Leeland Owen, both of Tomah. She also leaves behind her sister, Beverly Sorrell of San Antonio, TX, and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Owen of Tomah.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Nyna (Hunt) Woolever; her husbands; her son, Randi W. Owen; her brothers and sisters.
