Judith A. Kratche, age 79, of Camp Douglas, WI, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Our Town Assisted Living in Tomah, WI. She was born on March 20, 1945 to James and Sylvia (Warner) Gilmore in Sparta, WI. She married Ronald “Ronnie” Kratche on April 13, 1963 at Faith Bible Church in Tomah.
Judy worked for H&R Block as a tax preparer for many years in Beloit, WI. Following retirement, she and Ron returned to the Camp Douglas area where they enjoyed the outdoors and spending time together with family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Gary) Faulkner; her son, Jim Kratche; grandchildren, Ben (Jen) Faulkner, Beth (Nate) Price, Brandon Faulkner; great-grandchildren, Daisy Price, Leona Faulkner, and Peregrine Faulkner; sisters, Brenda (Dave) Bell, Janyce (Russ) Mckenna; sisters-in-law, Pam Gilmore, Leslie Gilmore, and Gloria Kratche; brothers-in-law, Roger (Carol) Kratche, John (Barb) Kratche, David Kratche, and Richard Steinmetz; along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Sylvia; husband, Ron Kratche; infant brother, James Gilmore; brothers, Jerry Gilmore and Thomas Gilmore; and sisters, Barbara (Bruce) Allen and Margaret (Tom) Shaw; brother-in-law, Ray Kratche; and sisters-in-law, Delores (Bob) Raese and Joann Steinmetz.
Funeral Services for Judy will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Pastor Daren Deford will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery, where Judy will be laid to rest near her parents. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
