SPARTA - Lindsay D. Garvin, 61, of Cataract, died Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at his home. He was born on May 1, 1962 in Battle Ground, WA to Samuel and Donna (Kuhnhausen) Garvin. He grew up in Battle Ground with his brother and sisters and graduated from Battle Ground High School.

After high school, Lindsay entered the Air Force in 1981, where his first job assignment was as a painter in Hawaii. He proudly served in the US Air Force until his retirement in 2015. He served in the Washington and Wisconsin Air National Guard and retired as a Master Sergeant.

Lindsay married Linda Ronnie in 1985 in Colorado Springs, CO. They were later transferred to Beale Air Force Base in California, where they welcomed the loves of Lindsay’s life, his two daughters, Emily & Sarah. As a family, they enjoyed the outdoors, camping and boating on the lakes of Washington. He often spoke of their trips to Lake Chelan and the Astoria Coast.

After he retired, he moved to Cataract to be closer to Emily & Sarah and his grandchildren. He was meticulous in everything he did. He enjoyed restoring old cars and honing his craftsmanship in woodworking and painting. He cherished the time he spent mentoring his grandsons. His latest project was rebuilding two dirt bikes with Henry and William. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the local watering hole. Lindsay was a strong, quiet man and his kind, gentle nature was felt in every place he went. Although he never spoke of it, Lindsay gave generously and those fortunate enough to be touched by his kindness often shared stories of these acts with his girls.

Lindsay is survived by his children, Emily (John) Sprague of Warrens and Sarah (Ryan Eddy) Garvin of Chicago; grandchildren, Henry Merow, William Merow, Allison Sprague, Sawyer Sprague, Broderick Eddy, and Gia Eddy; siblings, Kevin (Tina) Garvin of Oregon and Joanne Gehrman of Washington; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna and sister, Michelle Garvin.
