Marjorie A. “Tootie” Quist, of Kendall/Clifton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, at the
age of 90, in Tomah, Wisconsin at Touch of Home. She was born on April 14, 1934, in Clifton,
Wisconsin to Joseph and Margaret (Dwyer) Connor.
She was united in marriage to Sheldon Quist on June 23, 1956, at St. James Catholic Church in Camp
Douglas.
Prior to starting her family, Marjorie taught for two years in the Hustler school district. Marjorie spent
her career working in the Tomah school district driving bus, shaping the minds and hearts of countless
children. She instilled in them not only knowledge but also the values of respect and empathy. Her
passion for working with children was paralleled only by her commitment to her faith. As a faithful
member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church at Indian Creek, she served her congregation with devotion,
embodying the church’s teachings through her actions and as a prayer warrior.
Marjorie’s life was rich with the joy of raising her children, and she took immense pride in attending her
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events. Whether it was a school play, a sporting event,
or a simple family gathering, Marjorie’s presence was a source of comfort and encouragement. She was a
social person and enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre, Bingo and Dirty Clubs with family and
friends. Marjorie had a great sense of humor and was always there to share a joke.
Marjorie will be remembered for the warmth of her smile, the tenderness of her touch, and the generosity
of her heart. Those who knew her were blessed by her kind words and her ability to see the good in
everyone. She was a woman of unwavering faith, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and service that
will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
She is survived by her children, Karla Quist (friend, Dale Benson), Joseph (Susan) Quist, Kathleen (Billy)
Johnson, Kevin (Julie) Quist, Donna (Mark) Rezin and Kristi (Rob) Carlson; grandchildren, Todd
(Rhonda) Cook, Lorri Stelter, Melinda (Dan) Halloran, Shana Johnson, Samantha (Nick) Skretta,
