CAMP DOUGLAS - Nancy A. Lawrence, age 86, of Camp Douglas, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Liberty Village in Tomah, WI. She was born July 30, 1937, to Oliver and Mildred (Atwater) Cook in Detroit, Michigan.
She was united in marriage to Ronald Lawrence on September 30,1955 at the American Lutheran Church in Tomah, WI. Nancy loved her family more than anything. She enjoyed living in the country and looked forward to family gatherings during hunting season and holidays.
Nancy was a woman of strong faith. She was an active member at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church being involved in multiple women’s groups, bible studies and served wherever she was needed.
She is survived by her children, Ronald (Cindy) Lawrence II of Baileys Harbor, WI, Terry (BJ) Giles of Neillsville, WI and Mariellen (Joe) Lawrence of Tomah, WI, grandchildren, Ronald (Melanie) Lawrence III, Elizabeth (Jesse) Shupe, David (Brooke) Giles and Corey (Ashley) Elsing, 12 great grandchildren, a sister, Carol (Ron) Duncan, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Mildred, her husband of 67 years, Ronald, a granddaughter, Leah Degenhardt, an infant sister, Barbara Jean and sister, Mary Jane Woodworth.
Nancy’s family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Croix hospice and the staff at Liberty Village for the exceptional care given to Nancy.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Camp Douglas, WI. Pastor Brad Lindberg will officiate. A luncheon will be held immediately following the funeral service at the church. Burial will be held in the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Tomah, Wisconsin. Family and friends are invited for a visitation on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements.
