   CAMP DOUGLAS - Robert Clarence Williams, 78, of Camp Douglas, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Serenity House in Tomah surrounded by family.  Robert, son of Clarence and Margaret was born into his loving family February 11, 1946, at the family home in Warrens, WI.  Bob grew up on the family farm where his love of farming started.  He graduated from Tomah High School in 1964.  He enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1965 and received a citation as a sharpshooter.  He served his country for 6 years.  Bob moved to Rockford, IL where he met the love of his life, Phyllis Bragg.  They were married on February 11,1969, the same day as his birthday, they were married for 55 years.  He worked at Amerock in Rockford, Illinois before moving back to Wisconsin in 1970 when he started farming with his brother Don.  Bob was a hardworking man who worked two jobs for most of his life.  He farmed while also working at Union Camp in Tomah.  He worked at Union Camp for over 25 years as a converting operator.  Bob loved baseball, horses and his family.  He loved to joke around and was loved by all who knew him.  If Bob wasn’t joking around, you knew something was wrong.  Bob was loved dearly by his family and was a very special person to many.

   Bob and Phyllis bought their 1969 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 the year they were married.  They have many great memories with their Chevelle which they still own today.  Bob enjoyed racing his car when he was younger and liked to tell stories about racing his Chevelle. They enjoyed taking the car to car shows and won many trophies.  Bob’s girls have many fond memories of riding in the car.

   Bob is survived by his wife Phyllis (Bragg), his children Terri (Tim) Hayward, Kelly (Dennis) Baldwin, and Sue (Mike) Brown, Grandchildren Ashley (Tyler) Burton, Alyssa Hayward, Cuyler and Brady Baldwin, Jacob and Jaden Brown and Great Grandson Henry Burton.  He is also survived by his step mother-in-law Rebecca Ramey, siblings Ed (Shirley) Williams, Stanley (Elreda) Williams, Mary (Don) Eagen, Don (Sherri) Williams, Carol Trachte, and Ron (Ann) Williams, and sister-in-law Sharon Williams, Bob (Linda) Bragg, Wayne (Linda) Bragg, Kay (Larry) Austin, Lottie Goforth, Alice Thomas, Lugene (Doug) Saunders, Gene (Ricky) Bragg, Bamba (Allen) Bragg along with many nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Margeret (Lobe) Williams, Father-in-law Clifford Bragg, Mother-in-law Bevy Keaton, Brothers Vern Williams, Art Williams and Larry Williams, sister Betty (Williams) Ritter, sisters-in-law Coral Williams and Donna Williams, brothers-in-law Rich Trachte and Roy Goforth.

   A celebration of life and private Graveside service will be announced at a later date.
