He attended Butte Business College in which he earned his high school diploma in 3 years. After that, Robert enlisted into the United States Navy serving for 4 years active and 2 years reserves.

On December 26, 1961, Robert was united in marriage to Sheila M. Mulvihill in Missoula, Montana, and from that day on the adventure began. The highlights of Bob and Sheila’s travels were Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada. They met and made friends, along with countless cherished memories along the way. He proudly supported the Democratic Party and volunteered whenever he was needed. He also believed in fairness and equality, along with helping his neighbors and friends in times of need. He had a great sense of humor, a big heart, and an unwavering loyalty to the people he loved.

Robert found his sanctuary outside in the woods or along the banks of a river or stream. To say he enjoyed fishing would be an understatement. Whenever the opportunity arose to throw out a line, he jumped.

But most of all, Bob was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. He will be missed by those who love him.
