TOMAH - Mildred Mae Jones, age 77, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the Morrow Home Community in Sparta Wisconsin. She was born May 17, 1946, the daughter of August and Nina (Lietz) Hoefs. Mildred spent her time on the farm during her married life to David Jones, and then worked at Meca Sports in their factory line.
Mildred loved the time she spent with her family. She especially enjoyed writing, reading, and the beauty of nature.
She is survived by her children, Brian of Wausau, Todd of Madison, and William of St. Paul, Minnesota; grandchild, Benjamin Jones of Baraboo; siblings, Robert Hoefs of Hillsboro, and Karen (Robert) Buser of Stoughton; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Howard Hoefs; two stillborn brothers; sister, Betty (Niles) Meltesen; and sisters-in-law, Lorraine Hoefs, and Karen Hoefs.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ridgeville. Burial will take place in the Clifton Cemetery. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday. The Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements.
