SPARTA - Betty Jane Lamb, of Sparta, passed away May 9, 2022, at Lakeview Healthcare in West Salem. She was born on February 15, 1943, in Brookfield, Wisconsin, to Gilbert and Elizabeth (Behling) Eichfeld. She grew up in Brookfield and went to Waukesha High School. She attended Carthage College, and received her Masters Degree from the University of Illinois.
Betty worked at the Child Center in Sparta. She married Bob Lamb September 4, 1971 in Milwaukee. They spent their entire marriage in Sparta. Betty went to work for the Department of Vocation Rehabilitation, after the Child Center closed, and retired in 1993. She enjoyed sewing costumes for the La Crosse Community Theatre, volunteering her time for Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Trinity Lutheran Church.
Betty is survived by her husband, Robert of Sparta; children, Amy (Heath) Williams of West Allis, WI and Jonathon Lamb of Sparta; grandchildren, Porter and Olivia Williams; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Judy Kay.
