MIDDLE RIDGE - Theresa Clara (Leis) Schaub, 93, of Middle Ridge, WI, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta, WI, surrounded by her loving family. Theresa was born August 2, 1930 to Peter and Mary (Suhr) Leis, in Brush Creek, rural Cashton, WI.
On April 14, 1953 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Otto Schaub. She began farming with Otto on St. Mary’s Ridge. They moved to a farm in Middle Ridge in 1963. The farm was sold to their son Michael after Otto died. Theresa then moved to a smaller house in the neighborhood. She loved living close to her family which made it convenient for her to care for her grandchildren. Theresa also treasured her time gardening, quilting and embroidering. She was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Middle Ridge. Theresa was also active helping on fundraisers and dinners held at the church.
In December of 2015, she moved to the Morrow Home Community in Sparta. Her strong faith led her to always have a positive and joyful attitude through any difficult times she endured. Theresa bravely got through life’s struggles with a smile on her face.
Theresa is survived by her children, Linda Schaub of Durand, WI, Linus Schaub of Sparta, WI, Charles Schaub of La Crosse, WI, Steven (Mary) of La Crosse, WI, Dale (Threasa) Schaub of Rockland, WI, Lori (William) Hansen of Cashton, WI, Michael (Julie) Schaub of Rockland, WI, and Tom (Melissa) Schaub of Rockland, WI; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Otto in 1995; parents, Peter and Mary; sisters and brothers, Mary (George) Brueggeman, Martin (Gracia) Leis, Peter (Julia) Leis, George (Delores) Leis, and Albert (Esther) Leis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Middle Ridge, WI. Father Biju Chennala Kunjukutty, and Monsignor Robert Hundt will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton, WI. Visitation will conclude with praying the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Friday evening. Visitation will also be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church.
