PRESS RELEASE
On September 6, 2026, at approximately 1:13PM, Tomah Officers responded to an address on Green Acres Ave. for a report of a female screaming and blood observed on an entry door.
Upon arrival, officers entered the residence and observed a severely injured female lying inside the front door. Officers stayed near the female to protect her and summoned members from the Tomah Area Ambulance Service, who immediately responded and quickly removed the female victim. We commend the actions of the ambulance crew for their willingness to enter a scene that was still active to remove the victim and transport her to Tomah Health.
A male suspect was contacted inside the residence, and he refused to cooperate with officers. The suspect retreated to a back bedroom and claimed he was armed with a firearm. The male eventually tossed a knife into the kitchen. Officers attempted communication with the suspect, and he refused to surrender or engage in communication. The suspect briefly presented, and a large wound was observed on his neck area. Eventually, officers were able to take the suspect into custody. The suspect was transported to Tomah Health for medical treatment.
Initial information, provided by a witness, indicates the male suspect struck the victim numerous times in the head with a hammer. The witness attempted to intervene as the suspect dragged the victim back into the residence. The witness immediately called law enforcement.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information will be released when appropriate.
